ANTHEM

Anthem is an online multiplayer action role-playing game developed by BioWare. Set in a lush world shaped by alien forces, players take on the role of Freelancers who pilot customizable exosuits called Javelins in order to fight threats and explore the dangerous environment. The game’s exhilarating flight mechanics gave players a sense of freedom and power as they soared through jungles, canyons, and ancient ruins.

My Impact

  • Level Designer responsible for three critical path missions. These responsibilities included:

    • Concept work for major gameplay elements, including the Dominion shield generator.

    • Placing, play testing, and balancing combat encounters.

    • Populating the mission with visual storytelling spaces, such as campsites, enemy bases, and creature dens.

    • Implemented character banter, major story beats, and in-game cinematics..

    • Coordinated with other developers across multiple disciplines, including narrative design, environmental art, technical design, and gameplay engineering.

  • Scripted, balanced, and maintained combat scenes for 2016 E3 Demo.

  • Scripted prototypes for six world events, establishing a framework for future teams to create similar events.

  • Restructured and revised through multiple large system changes throughout the life of the project.
